Abstract

Liver abscess is an infection of the hepatic parenchyma caused by bacterial or parasitic pathogens. Based on its etiology, it is classified into pyogenic liver abscess and amebic liver abscess. Leukemoid reaction and Syndrome of Inappropriate Secretion of Antidiuretic Hormone (SIADH) are rare conditions associated with this disease. We report a case of a 28-year-old male who presented with right upper abdominal pain and was diagnosed with amebic liver abscess following comprehensive evaluation. The condition was further complicated by a leukemoid reaction, which raised suspicion of an underlying hematological disorder, as well as hypoalbuminemia and hyponatremia, strongly suggestive of SIADH. The coexistence of these conditions in the context of liver abscess presents significant challenges in both diagnosis and management. Precise diagnosis and integrated management are essential to achieving favorable outcomes.
